Who
Can Join
MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union membership is open to any
person who is an employee of the Grange Insurance Companies. Once
you’re a member, you’re a member for life, even if you
change employers or retire. A member may retain membership with
full member rights and privileges, provided they maintain the required
minimum share balance of $5.00, remain in good standing, and keep
the credit union informed of a current mailing address.
Did you know that once you become a member of GMECU, your immediate
family members can also join? They can enjoy the same benefits of
the credit union – friendly service, competitive savings rates,
and lower loan rates.
Give your family the gift of credit union membership.
HOW DO I JOIN
Contact GMECU for membership application forms. All it takes is
a deposit of at least $5.00 in a Regular Share Savings Account.
MEMBER NOTICE
To our account holders and potential account holders:
In accordance with Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act of 2001,
which requires the Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union to help
the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering
activities, Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union is required to
obtain basic identifying information from you and verify that information
when you open a new account.
This means the Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union staff will
ask you for some basic information such as your name, address, date
of birth, and other information designed to help us identify you.
Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union staff will also ask to see
documents identifying you, such as social security card, driver’s
license, passport, and /or some other government-issued document.
In some cases, identification will be requested for those individuals
conducting business with Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union prior
to the effective date of the member identification requirements.
This is because original documentation was not obtained with the
opening of the account or Grange Mutual Employees Credit Union is
unable to form a reasonable belief that it knows the true identity
of the existing account holder.
In all cases, protection of our member’s identity and confidentiality
is the Credit Union’s pledge to you. Grange Mutual Employees
Credit Union appreciates your patience and understanding as we all
do our part in complying with the new account identification procedures
required by the federal USA Patriot Act of 2001.
Respectfully,
The Board of Directors,
Staff and Members of the
